Tuesday Tales: Just Watch Me - Part 6

I have to say a quick thank you for those who take the time out of their busy schedule to stop by and be amused by my scribbling.  Please make sure you stop back here to read the rest of contributors.  This week's prompt was the word "SILENT".  With that being said, we'll continue where our tale left off...with Zeke's appearing behind Thea while she's at dinner with Adam..

Just Watch Me: Part Six

“Excuse me but I don’t see how this is your concern.” Adam kept his voice even but the stillness around him made her think on animal getting ready to pounce. The last thing she wanted was Zeke to clock Adam. Shrugging off Zeke’s hands, she pushed back from the table.

“I’m sorry Adam. Excuse me for a moment?” Pasting on her best smile, she didn’t wait for him to reply before turning and dragging a silent but grinning Zeke out of the dining room and onto the open patio next to the pool.

“Whoa, Thea! Where’s the fire?” The smug smile on his face wasn't endearing. The asshole didn’t even have the nerve to sound contrite. Instead he simply sounded amused by her reaction. Anger at both his actions and her own reactions had her ready to shove the grinning loon into the pool.
“I can’t believe you, Ezekial St. John! I flew over two thousand miles to get away from this behavior but no you had to follow me! So who ratted on me? Anderson?” Propping her hands on her hips, she glared up at him.
He continued to grin down at her as he shook his head. “Nope.”
“Bethany?” If it was her best friend, she’d kill her. There were only a handful of people who knew and she was one of them.
“Naw, she won’t give me the time of day since you chewed her out for telling me about your little date down at Palisades.” Leaning up against the now deserted bar, his eyes did a slow sweep down her body.
“Stop it! I don’t know what the hell you’re trying to prove but I’m done with this. Both you, your sister, and the rest of the good citizens of Central City can go straight to hell! I’m not poor little Theodora Lewis anymore. I’m tired of you running off every guy who even shows the slightest bit of interest. I’m tired of the pitiful stares. I’m a grown woman who wants to take a lover and if I have to fly half way around the world to accomplish it I will!” Fuming mad she turned around to stomp off when a pair of arms jerked her back.
“Why didn’t you just say so, Sprite? There was no reason for you to come down here to find a lover.”
Pushing at his arms, she tried to hang on to her anger. Despite everything, she hadn’t been held in his arms since the fateful day he’d rescued her from Nathaniel Lewis’s brutal fists. Desire sizzled and rushed to the surface. Using her anger like a shield against it, she kicked backwards, gratified when she heard him grunt as her heel struck his shin.
“You’re loco, Zeke! I’d have about as much a chance of taking a lover back home as a pig does flying. You’ve run off every man…”
“I doubt it.” His amused chuckle brushed across her ear and had her nipples tightening against the bodice of her dress.
“Name me one man under the age of sixty and over the age of twenty-one who’s been interested me that you haven’t!” Jerking her head away from his mouth she pried at his arms.
“Me.” His soft declaration had her stiffening in his arms before he spun her around and slanted his firm masculine mouth over hers, swallowing all thoughts of protest.
